While on night shift patrol, the officer spotted Nathan Conard and Jenna Belcher hiding behind the dumpsters at Kwik N Kleen car wash on Morview Boulevard in Morgantown, according to the Caernarvon Township Police Department.

As he approached them, they fled on foot leading him on a short chase.

After briefly losing sight of the pair, the officer was able to find them with the help of the Brecknock and Robeson Township Police Departments.

During a search of the duo's hiding spot, investigators found burglary tools, and clothing worn during the course of numerous burglaries, police said.

The pair admitted to coming to the car wash with the intent of cutting the locks off of the coin-operated machines and stealing the money, police said.

They allegedly admitted to similar thefts in Bern Township and Adamstown, both in Lancaster County.

Their car was impounded pending a search warrant.

Both people were taken to the Berks County Sheriff’s Office for processing and arraignment.

The investigation is still ongoing.
